A Drug-Free Next Step

You’ve carried enough. This part is on us.

Source Neurofeedback offers drug-free neurofeedback for veterans, active-duty service members, and military families in Clarksville, TN, minutes from Fort Campbell. Using a painless qEEG brain map, we build a personalized, medication-free training plan aimed at helping a dysregulated brain find a steadier baseline. Neurofeedback is not a cure and not a replacement for your VA care, but for many it is a supportive next step.

For the Fort Campbell Community

We know the pace military life runs at.

Clarksville is a Fort Campbell town, and much of what we see reflects that. The people who come through our doors are veterans adjusting to civilian life, active-duty soldiers between training cycles, and spouses and kids holding a household together through deployments and frequent moves.

Military life runs at a pace that wears on the nervous system: long separations, the stress of reintegration, sleep that never quite resets, a mind that stays scanning for the next thing. Those pressures are real, and they add up. We are not here to tell you to tough it out. Neurofeedback is a drug-free way to work directly with how the brain is regulating itself, built around your own brain map rather than a generic protocol. Whether you served, you are serving now, or you are the one keeping things running at home, this page is for you and your family.

Where It May Help

Symptoms neurofeedback may support.

Veterans and service members often come to us carrying a familiar cluster of symptoms: sleep that will not come or will not stay, hypervigilance and a stress response stuck in high gear, trouble focusing, and moods that feel harder to steer than they used to. Neurofeedback may help support the brain’s own regulation around these patterns, though results vary from person to person and we never promise a specific outcome.

Two areas come up often enough to name directly. For trauma-related symptoms, our work on PTSD explains how training fits alongside other care. For the lingering effects of a head injury, our page on TBI and concussion recovery covers our approach to post-concussion symptoms, with one important point: neurofeedback is for lingering symptoms after a proper medical evaluation, not for an acute injury. If something feels like an emergency, that is a job for a doctor or the emergency room, not a training session.

One Part of a Bigger Picture

Working alongside the VA and your care team.

Neurofeedback works best as one part of a bigger picture. We coordinate with, and never replace, your VA and community care team, whether that is your primary care provider, a therapist, or a psychiatrist. Please keep the appointments and medications your providers have set; nothing here is a reason to stop treatment on your own.

A few things we want to be clear about. Neurofeedback is not FDA-approved for PTSD, and it is not a cure. You do not need to relive or retell your trauma during a session; the training works with your brain’s rhythms, not by walking back through the worst days.

How To Start

Everything starts with a brain map.

It is a painless, roughly hour-long recording of your brainwave activity, with no referral required and no diagnosis needed to begin. From there we sit down together, go through what the map shows in plain language, and lay out a drug-free plan built for your brain. If it feels like the right first step, you can start with a brain map and we will take it at your pace. There is no pressure and no obligation to continue.

Veteran & military questions

Is neurofeedback covered by TRICARE or the VA?

That is the most common question we get, and the honest answer is that coverage depends on your specific plan and situation. Rather than post a blanket answer that might not hold true for you, we go over payment and any coverage questions with you directly, privately and off-site. Just ask us.

Do I need a VA referral to start?

No. You do not need a referral or an existing diagnosis to get a brain map or to begin training.

Is this a treatment for PTSD?

No. Neurofeedback is not FDA-approved for PTSD and is not a cure or a standalone treatment. That said, many veterans use it as a supportive addition to the care they are already receiving, and we coordinate with your existing providers rather than in place of them.

Will I have to talk about what happened?

No. You do not need to relive or describe your trauma for neurofeedback. The training works with your brain’s rhythms, not by revisiting difficult memories.
